Milfoil Survey – Crystal Lake Community

I do not want poisons (herbicides, fungicides, pesticides) dumped into Crystal Lake for any reason.

Crystal Lake is shared, the shores and bottom lands are owned by many different families and legal entities in 5 different municipalities. Any deliberate action taken to alter conditions (biodiversity, chemistry, water quality, level etc.), of Crystal Lake should have the informed consensus of landowners around Crystal Lake, both residents and non residents.

Everyone who enjoys Crystal Lake should be included in future plans, regardless of whether they own land or not.

Consensus about Crystal Lake is gained by gradual and comprehensive outreach and education including but not limited to – USPS mailings to all residents and non residents, public meetings, social media campaigns, phone trees and word of mouth as well as local newspaper articles and organizational websites.

Invasive species might be a problem, but only zero impact remediation strategies are acceptable, like the CLWA's current effective program to relocate Merganser broods to gradually remove swimmers itch, which does not require chemical modification of the ecosystem.

Triclopyr and Monsanto’s Roundup are both herbicides. Bayer, owner of Monsanto just agreed to a 10 billion dollar settlement on multiple cancer claims, contradicting Bayer / Monsanto and the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) assurances Roundup is safe when used as directed. Many herbicides claimed to be safe have proven to cause longer term problems.
